- DRY BULK CARGO traffic amounted to 928.065 tons (some of the main types of cargo in this category unloaded in the Port of Leghorn were sand, silica, bentotite, coal and zirconium).

- NEW CARS traffic in the Port of Leghonr is of considerable importance making Leghorn one of the main ports for this sector, not only in Italy but also in Europe.
(This is maunly due to the availability of the vast spaces which this traffic requires).
In 1999, a number of 462.198 new cars were unloaded.
